How do I report

Injured wild animals?

If you find a wild animal, such as an injured bird, the most important thing to do is to make absolutely certain that the animal is truly injured. Then phone Wildlife Rescue at 604-526-7275. A staff member will tell you what to do. If no one is available to answer the phone, leave a detailed message. To find out more, visit Wildlife Rescue.

Dangerous wild animals?

Most wild animals that live in the UNA neighbourhoods are not dangerous. They are simply wild. If you see a wild animal, enjoy watching the animal from a safe distance. Above all, never approach a wild animal and attempt to touch it or feed it. However, if you observe a wild animal that you believe poses an immediate danger to humans phone the BC Ministry of the Environment Conservation Service at 1-877-952-7277. To find out more about wildlife human encounters go to the BC Ministry of the Environment FAQ on wildlife-human encounters. For specific information on coyotes visit the Co-existing with Coyotes site.

If you notice an abandoned vehicle near your residence you can phone the RCMP at 604-224-1322. However, make sure that the vehicle is actually abandoned. It is illegal to park a vehicle with no license plate on the street. Other situations are not necessarily illegal and would probably be a matter for your strata council or building manager.
