There have been a number of inquiries about the director election and the AGM . Given the volume of information this year with proposed new by-laws we decided to separate the AGM notice from the election package. We discovered with the AGM notice that the mail was taking much longer than we had been advised. It became apparent that there was a real risk with the election ballots that they may not be received in time for the AGM.

We sought advice on how best to proceed and the Board met on November 2nd. Directors Cottle and Zhou recused themselves from the discussion and decision. After reviewing all the options the Board decided not to run the risk of receiving ballots after the AGM.

The AGM will now take place at the Old Barn Community Centre from 7 to 9 pm on January 9th, 2018. The candidates whose nominations have been accepted have been notified. We will be posting their names on the website next week and have asked them to refrain from campaigning until the extension of time for nominations that is now required has ended.

Once an AGM has been cancelled and then rescheduled all the notice requirements take effect afresh. The January date allows for mail to be sent and received over the holiday season.

The new timelines will be posted on the website as will candidate and AGM information. There will be an all candidates forum and an election newsletter as previously planned.

We are still hosting an Open House on November 18th from 2 to 4 pm to answer any questions about the proposed new by-laws.
