April 15, 2021 Sustainability Tips

Earth Day is a great annual opportunity to connect with your local environment. This day serves as a reminder for humans to take care of the Earth, not only as a home to humans, but also a home to all animals, plants, fungi, and microorganisms. This year, because we can’t gather, we are hosting an event that allows anyone to participate in their own neighbourhood and on their own time.

UNA Earth Day Quest  |  April 22, 2021
The UNA Earth Day Quest will send you on a search around the UNA neighbourhoods to find the ample environmental and sustainable features of our collective home. We invite you to go on this quest on your own or with your household bubble, and share your experience with others by submitting a photo of yourself on the quest. Submissions made during the week of Earth Day, April 19-25, will enter you into a draw to win an Earth Day prize! These include a variety of sustainable products including reusable beeswax food wraps, natural and locally made soaps, and zero waste food accessories. This quest is a great opportunity to get to know your neighbourhood better, especially your natural neighbours. Learn more

Some other great Earth Day events include virtual events at UBC’s Institute for Environmental Learning and UBC Climate Hub.
