SUMMARY:Saturday Afternoon Tea: Brain Recovery- A Journey of Hope
DESCRIPTION:This program is part of the Live Well\, Stay Strong Project funded by Canada Government’s New Horizons Seniors Program (NHSP) grant. Registration required. Please note that Mandarin translation is not available. Join us as Laura Stoicescu relates her story of recovering from a stroke. We often take our life for granted. We lead busy lives and assume that we can control our destiny\, goals\, and future. But one day\, everything can turn upside down. Imagine you went to bed with a migraine and woke up in a hospital intensive care unit. Doctors tell your significant other that you suffered a major stroke and now have a life-threatening medical condition. You were a busy professional and realized that you cannot even remember your birthday\, today’s date\, month\, or year. Laura’s story is one of recovery and self-discovery\, with ups and downs\, struggles\, and successes. The Overcoming adversity takes a great deal of hard work\, determination\, and support from family and healthcare professionals. It also takes courage to trust that you can recover-to hope that you can live your life again\, with grace and ease…one step at a time\, one day at a time. Brain Recovery – A Journey of Hope by Laura Stoicescu is available from Amazon in either paperback or Kindle: https://www.amazon.ca/Brain-Recovery-Journey-Hope-learning/dp/1738632008/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=a+journey+of+hope&qid=1685053956&sr=8-4
