April 3, 2020 COVID-19, News

There are many heath-care and essential services heroes in our UNA communities and in B.C. They are doing a remarkable job working around the clock to slow the spread of COVID-19 in order to protect the health and well-being of the public. At the UNA, we are incredibly appreciative for everything they have done and continue to do in these very challenging and uncertain times.

Please set your alarm for 7 p.m. every evening and join the province-wide morale-boosting cheer. Let’s open our windows or stand on our balconies to make some noise in support of all the courageous people on the frontlines.

In the UNA community, health-care and essential service workers are at the UBC Hospital, Urgent Care Centre, UBC research labs, UBC Campus Security, the grocery store, pharmacies and other businesses that remain open. They are also RCMP officers, firefighters, ambulance paramedics, maintenance workers, journalists and more.

Share your photos and videos with the rest of B.C. on Twitter using #covid7PMcheer.
