DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Helen Aqua \nPlease join us as Helen Aqua presents best practices for preparing for medical emergencies. This talk will include information on In Case of Emergency (ICE) which is a compilation of vital medical information that health care providers and emergency responders can use to give you the best possible care in a timely manner. Also included will be how they will know who you are\, crucial medical information about you (severe drug allergies\, etc) and how to contact your family or friends if you cannot talk. \nHelen Aqua is an Advanced Care Planning Facilitator. Her studies have included topics ranging from Death Doulas and Palliative Care to the role of Social Workers and Spiritual Care Providers during serious illness. \nA meeting ID and password will be provided after registration.

DESCRIPTION:Learn about how parents and other caregivers can support children’s emotional well-being in the transition back to school. \nThe start of this school year can be a stressful time for many families. Going back to a changed school environment\, after spending a lot more time at home and apart from others\, may make this year’s back-to-school transition more challenging than previous years. Guided by research in social and emotional development\, this online workshop offers caregivers useful information and practical strategies for supporting their own and their children’s emotional well-being during this period of change. \nAbout the Facilitator \nAngela Low is a specialist in emotional intelligence and child development\, dedicated to bringing social and emotional learning (SEL) to the forefront of communities that support children\, youth and their families. Angela has been developing educational resources and facilitating workshops on emotional intelligence for 12 years in China and Canada. In Vancouver\, she works with the Dalai Lama Center for Peace and Education\, YWCA\, YMCA\, VPL\, and various school districts and community centres to integrate SEL into community programs. \nJoin the Online Workshop
