Second Application for Cannabis Retail at UEL
Please be informed that Atheneum Cannabis has applied for a Change of Land Use District to develop the site at Unit 102/202, 5728 University Blvd. for non-medical cannabis retail. The deadline for written comments addressed to the UEL Manager is July 8, 2021. Comments can be emailed to the UEL Administration Office at PlanUEL@gov.bc.ca.
For non-medical cannabis retail licence applications in the UEL, Metro Vancouver Regional District (MVRD) must gather residents’ views to make comments and recommendations on the licensee’s application to the BC Liquor and Cannabis Regulations Branch (LCRB). Written comments submitted as part of this rezoning application will be considered as gathering residents’ views for the MVRD and will be used to inform MVRD recommendations to the BC LCRB.
Please note that, as circulated in previous UNA newsletter issues, there is another application in process regarding a rezoning to allow for the conditional use of a non-medical cannabis retail store at 5784 University Blvd., (in the current Copy Smart location in UEL’s University Village). The comment period for this site closed on June 9.
All comments submitted to the UEL as part of the rezoning will be shared with Metro Vancouver and count as input if or when this rezoning application comes before the Metro Vancouver Board of Directors.
