The UNA will be re-opening all neighbourhood playgrounds on Friday morning, May 29. Please note that the UNA will not be sanitizing playground equipment on a regular basis, so please use with caution.

UBC will also be re-opening the UBC skate park on Friday, May 29.

The Nobel Softball Diamond and the UNA Brockhouse Park Community Field were opened on May 8 and 26, respectively. We encourage users to use the fields for casual play and not competitive play.

We encourage users to comply with public health orders and guidelines on safety and physical distancing. We ask everyone to observe the reminders on the UNA signs and to use the outdoor facilities responsibly by:

  • Maintaining a 2-metre distance between yourself and others who are not in your household,
  • Washing or sanitizing your hands frequently,
  • Disinfecting personal equipment before and after use,
  • Refraining from sharing equipment,
  • Staying home, if you feel sick

The Wesbrook Community Centre and the Old Barn Community Centre remain closed to the public, however, registration for a limited number of summer camps and fitness programs will begin in early June. Registration information and safety guidelines/measures on how we are conducting summer programs will be posted soon.

The UNA Main Office remains closed to the public.

Parking permit renewals are suspended until further notice.

The UNA is approaching re-opening in a thoughtful way that is in alignment with the Provincial Government’s B.C. Restart Plan, and in consultation with UBC and the British Columbia Recreation and Parks Association (BCRPA).
