Update: Province-wide Restrictions on Recreation Activities
Update – February 5, 2020: Provincial restrictions on high intensity exercise and sport have been extended indefinitely.
As an update to the additional restrictions put in place by the BC Provincial Health Officer on November 7, 2020, the UNA will be cancelling all suspended indoor group physical activity classes. The decision to cancel the remainder of the season will allow time for physical activity programs to regroup and devise an updated safety plan for the upcoming winter season. Participants will be receiving a prorated refund for the cancelled classes in their program. A full list of programs affected is listed on our Indoor Physical Activities and Indoor Sports Suspended news post.
UNA staff will be working on updating current safety guidelines in time for Winter programming. Details on Winter program registration and the 2021 Winter Program Guide will be announced soon.
The order also states that the wearing of face masks is now mandatory in all indoor public spaces. The UNA has updated our mask policy and it also outlines exemptions and guidelines on enforcement. We will be updating our signs and posters by early next week.
The UNA Fitness Centre capacity has been reduced from 10 to eight people (excluding staff). This was done after reviewing the capacity limits of other fitness centres to help with physical distancing.
