Anyone residing in a UNA neighbourhood is eligible to become a UNA member. Only members have the right to vote at the AGM and elect resident candidates to sit as directors on the UNA Board of Directors.
The UNA Access Card is your residential photo ID that grants access to many cultural and recreational facilities in and around the UBC Vancouver campus. Find out what an Access card can do for you.
UNA Recreation provides community oriented services through programs and events. Our team is committed to providing the highest quality environments for children and youth to learn and grow through arts, dance, sports, and education. For adults and seniors, we offer many programs and fitness options.
Maintaining safe neighbourhoods is a community effort. The UNA works along side the RCMP to increase public safety in all UNA neighbourhoods. We have outlined a few things that you and your family can do to be prepared in the event of an emergency.
The UNA is continuously working to advance its practices and services to reduce its environmental impact while increasing the economic and social wellness of the community members.
LICENCES & PERMITS
The UNA doesn’t issue any licenses or permits, but some licenses and permits are available either through UBC or through the City of Vancouver. Find more information about building permits, business licences, dog licences, and Liquor Licences here.
There are various rooms available for rentals at both the Wesbrook and Old Barn Community Centres. Find out what we have to offer for spaces and what services we can coordinate for your next event.
The UNA has three community gardens with a total of 180 garden plots. These gardens provide UNA members the opportunity for both recreational gardening and food production, and serve to strengthen the sense of community within each of the neighbourhoods.
Our on-street parking strategy aims to provide neighbourhood residents and visitors (defined as residents’ friends/family, neighbourhood service vehicles, and shoppers in commercial cores) an opportunity to park their vehicles in UNA neighbourhoods.
The UNA takes snow removal seriously and is making consistent, coordinated efforts with UBC Building Operations to keep main throughways and sidewalks clear. We have information on UBC priority roads and UNA priority sidewalks.
