March 15, 2022 COVID-19, News, Recreation

Following Provincial Health Officer orders from March 10, 2022 on face coverings, gatherings and events and workplace safety, the UNA will be making changes to align with public health starting March 15:

  1. Wearing masks in public indoor settings is no longer required by public health. Wearing a mask is a personal choice.
  2. There are no restrictions on indoor or outdoor gatherings, events, exercise and fitness activities.
  3. For UNA staff, the COVID-19 Staff Safety Plan will be replaced by a Communicable Disease Prevention Plan.

These changes will come into effect in all UNA facilities including the UNA Main Office, the Wesbrook Community Centre and the Old Barn Community Centre beginning March 15, 2022.

Proof of vaccination is still required for all programs at both community centres except for children and youth programs, and activities for those under the age of 22. Parents accompanying children in programs or spectating a class (inside or outside a program space) must show their proof of vaccination.

The UNA, since the beginning of the pandemic, has been in lockstep with implementing Provincial Health Officer’s orders, with additional guidance taken from the BC Recreation and Parks Association, and WorkSafe BC.
