Concrete restoration work will take place at the southwest entrance to Hampton Place beginning Monday, August 10. The project is expected to take approximately 2.5 weeks, weather permitting, and will restore the entrance while carefully matching the existing decorative concrete pattern to maintain the neighbourhood’s appearance.

Project Details 

  • Location: Southwest entrance to Hampton Place
  • Start Date: Monday, August 10, 2026
  • Duration: Approximately 2.5 weeks (weather dependent)
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

What to Expect 

The project will take place in two phases:

  • Excavation and Preparation (approximately 2–3 days): This phase will involve removing the existing concrete using heavy equipment and is expected to generate the highest levels of noise and traffic disruption.
  • Concrete Placement and Curing (approximately 12–14 days): Crews will pour, finish and cure the new concrete. While this phase is generally quieter, traffic changes will remain in place until the project is complete.

Traffic Impacts

To safely complete the work, temporary traffic changes will be in effect throughout the project:

  • The southwest entry lane (eastbound) will be closed.
  • Traffic entering Hampton Place from Wesbrook Mall will be temporarily routed through the westbound lane, with two-way traffic maintained. (Marked by blue arrows on the map.)
  • No left turns will be permitted into or out of Thames Court. (Marked by blue arrows on the map.)
  • On-street parking on the westbound side of Hampton Place will be temporarily prohibited. (Marked in red on the map.)

Pedestrian Access 

  • Pedestrian access will remain available throughout construction. The Hampton Place crosswalk will stay open but will be temporarily shifted slightly east of its current location. (Marked by blue dotted line on the map.)
  • Traffic control personnel will be on site to direct vehicles and assist pedestrians, and cones and barricades will clearly separate pedestrians and cyclists from vehicle traffic. (Marked by orange dotted line on the map.)
