Meet the Species
The UNA Operations team has partnered with UBC Campus and Community Planning and our consulting landscape architect to curate the following recommended tree list. The prioritized trees are resilient, urban-hardy species, which also suit the design and character of Hampton Place:
| Species | Primary Benefit | Visual Profile |
|---|---|---|
| Freeman Maple | Broad summer shade | Brilliant orange and red autumn foliage; fast-growing canopy |
| Serbian Spruce | Year-round evergreen cover | Slender, upright growth habit that adapts perfectly to tight spaces |
| Holly Oak | Deep climate resilience | A legacy evergreen broadleaf species. Features highly drought-tolerant, glossy evergreen leaves providing constant cooling |
