Help Shape the Future of Health Services Around UBC
By UNA
The UBC Campus of Care Network is looking for two local community residents and two UBC students to take part in a series of conversations this fall about improving health and wellness services in the UBC area.
The Campus of Care Network brings together organizations that provide health and wellness services across the UBC campus and surrounding neighbourhoods. Its goal is to improve coordination, communication and navigation between these services so that people in the community can more easily get the support they need.
Community members have valuable first-hand knowledge of what it is like to access healthcare and wellness services in and around UBC. Participants will be invited to share their own experiences, identify challenges and help explore improvements that could make local services work better for everyone.
You do not need healthcare expertise or professional experience to participate, and you will not be expected to speak on behalf of the entire community. The network is looking for people who can share their own perspectives while also considering the experiences and needs of others.
Community participants should live at or near the Point Grey campus and be interested in contributing a community perspective to improving local healthcare. UBC students with experience using health, wellness, accessibility or community support services are also encouraged to participate.
Participants will attend three in-person sessions in fall 2026 with approximately 20 to 30 local healthcare leaders. Sessions will take place at the Gateway Health Building at 2211 Wesbrook Mall and will be held approximately three to four weeks apart.
Each session will be about 2.5 hours and will focus on:
Participants will also review brief background materials between sessions. The total commitment is approximately eight to nine hours over three months. Participation is voluntary and is not financially compensated.
By participating, community members and students will have an opportunity to learn more about health and wellness services available around UBC, connect with local healthcare and community partners, and contribute to creating a more connected and person-centred local health system.
