Old Barn Community Centre

Located at Hawthorn Place, the Old Barn Community Centre provides a social, recreational and community gathering place for residents and students on campus. The Old Barn Community Centre houses meeting rooms, social spaces, a fitness centre and the Bean Around the World coffee shop.

Community Fields

The UNA operates two sports fields in Wesbrook Place. The UNA Community Field is located beside the Wesbrook Community Centre and the Collings Softball Field is located at Nobel Park.

Scheduling: UNA sports fields have designated hours for community use and agreements with UBC, VSB, and other community partners. The fields are open exclusively for community drop-in use during the following hours, when not in use by Vancouver School Board events, games, and practices. Private bookings for alternative times can be made by emailing bookings@myuna.ca. All bookings of the field are required to provide their booking reference number.

  • UNA Community Field

    The UNA Community Field is used for soccer, football, field hockey, ultimate, and other games that can be played on a large field. The field includes an open air astroturf field, team bench shelters, wrap around fencing, spectators benches, and automated field lighting.

    The UNA encourages community use of the UNA Community Field whenever it is not reserved for community or partner bookings.

    The open-access hours, dedicated for community use, are listed below.

    • Tuesday: 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
    • Sunday: 2 p.m. – 6 p.m.
    • Holidays: Available when not in use.
  • Collings Softball Field

    The Collings Softball Field is was upgraded in 2020 by the UBC Softball teams for training and games. The field includes a natural grass outfield, team bench shelters, wrap around fencing, spectators benches, and automated field lighting.

    The UNA encourages community use the Collings Softball Field whenever it is not reserved for community and partner bookings.

    There are currently no dedicated open access times for the Summer 2022 season.
