Road Advisory: Traffic Changes for Apple Festival

The Apple Festival will take place on Saturday, Oct 15 & Sunday, Oct 16, 2022 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at UBC Botanical Garden.

This is a large annual event expecting visitors from across the Lower Mainland to UBC. To manage pedestrians, some road and lane closures will be in place around the Botanical Garden, with a shuttle service being operational to bring visitors to the garden from UBC Parkades.

The traffic changes will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Details on the closures:

SW Marine Drive North and South of Stadium Road – Refer to diagram B

• Road reduced to single lane in each direction and speed limit reduced to 30km/h.
• Traffic will be stopped by Traffic Control Personnel to accommodate pedestrian crossings safely. Drivers should use an alternative route or expect delays.
• Absolutely no parking and no stopping on SW Marine Drive.
• No access to Botanical Garden Parking Lot or Stadium Road from SW Marine Drive.

Stadium Road between West Mall and SW Marine Drive

• Stadium Road CLOSED between West Mall and SW Marine Drive. No vehicle access, pedestrian and cyclist use only.
• TransLink bus 68 UBC Exchange to be rerouted.

Access to St. Johns Hospice from East Mall is maintained.
