Traffic Advisory: Vancouver Half Marathon and 5K Run

On Sunday, June 25, UBC will be hosting the Vancouver Half Marathon and 5K Run. The event will run from 7:30 to 11 a.m., with road closures in place to accommodate event.

The road closures will include:

Lane Closures

• 7 – 10:15 a.m.: South West Marine Drive between Wesbrook Mall and Kullahun Drive open in northbound direction only. Southbound traffic detoured to 16th Avenue.

Full Road Closures

• 4 – 11:15 a.m.: North West Marine Drive between Stadium Road and University Boulevard
• 4 a.m. – 12 p.m.: Agronomy Road between North West Marine Drive and Lower Mall
• 7 – 9:30 a.m.: North West Marine Drive between University Boulevard and East Mall
• 7 – 10 a.m.: North West Marine Drive from Chancellor Boulevard to 4th Avenue (along Spanish Banks)
• 7 – 11 a.m.: South West Marine Drive (Wesbrook Mall to Stadium Road)

Access to Botanical Gardens via Stadium Road across North West Marine Drive through gaps in runners. Flaggers will be present.

Wesbook Place residents and visitors, will have to use 16th Avenue during event to avoid delays, not South West Marine Drive. There is no access from Wesbrook Mall onto South West Marine Drive from 7 to 10:15 a.m.

Cecil Green Park Road access accommodated from North West Marine Drive via Chancellor Boulevard through gaps in runners.

UBC Hospital access via 16th Avenue, University Boulevard and Chancellor Boulevard to Wesbrook Mall.
