On Tuesday, December 21, 2021, the BC Ministry of Health announced new restrictions in response to the rising number of cases caused by the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 virus.

On Wednesday, December 22, 2021, the Provincial Health Officer released the official order.

The UNA is taking action based on information in this order and communications from the BCRPA.

UNA Operations
The following changes to UNA operations will take affect starting Thursday, December 23:

  • Fitness Centres Closed
    • UNA Fitness Centres will be closed starting December 23, 2021.
    • Monthly passes have been frozen. Details will be communicated directly to pass holders through email.
  • Bookings Cancelled
    • All UNA bookings have been cancelled.
    • Affected locations include the Wesbrook Community Centre, Old Barn Community Centre, UNA Community Field and Collings Softball Field.
  • Fitness Programs Cancelled
    • All in-person fitness program classes occurring from December 23, 2021 – January 18, 2022 are cancelled.
    • Registered participants for Winter 2022 programs that are affected by this change will be contacted by email with further details.
