Introducing the UNA Access Card

The UNA Community Services Card is getting an upgrade. Introducing the new UNA Access Card – a photo ID card for UNA residents to access many cultural and recreation facilities on and off UBC point grey campus.

The UNA Access Card is now available at:

  • the UNA office (202-5923 Berton Ave.) from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday; or
  • the Old Barn Community Centre (6308 Thunderbird Blvd.) 7 am to 10 pm Monday to Sunday.

Proof of residency is required at time of application. Click here to download the application form.

Purchase Your 2014 Parking Permits

2013-14 Parking Permits and Decals have now expired. Warning notices have been issued to vehicles in violation and the Commissionaires have been directed to begin towing vehicles with expired permits/decals. Please renew your parking permit at the UNA office. Please note the new parking fee schedule for Hawthorn Place and Wesbrook Place, effective April 1, 2014.

An Election for Electoral Area A Director

Coming up in November, general local elections will be held all over the province. This includes an election for the Director of Electoral Area A in the Greater Vancouver Regional District. All UNA residents are part of the Electoral Area A. Nominations will soon be open. For more information, please visit the Metro Vancouver Elections Page.

Watch for New Parking Signage in Wesbrook Place

New parking signage at Wesbrook Place will be installed starting August 25, 2014. Enforcement of new signage will begin immediately.

Locations for new parking signage:

  • Ross Drive
  • Webber Lane
  • Birney Avenue (west of Shurm Lane)
  • Gray Avenue (west of Wesbrook Mall)

Roadwork Notice

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is expecting to begin road rehabilitation this summer starting as early as this week. Work will start at Chancellor Boulevard before moving onto SW Marine Drive and University Boulevard. The UNA will provide additional updates once available. Click here for more information.

C+CP Engagement Charter: DRAFT Principles & Guiding Practices

C+CP is in the process of developing an Engagement Charter that defines principles of engagement for the planning of the campus and communities. The Charter includes a set of principles for defining, designing, implementing and concluding public engagement and guiding practices for each principle. Deadline for comments is August 15.

Binning – West 16th Ave. Corridor Improvements

The following changes are being implemented to improve safety and circulation in the neighbourhood:

  • An extension of Binning Road to West 16th Avenue
  • A pedestrian crossing across West 16th Avenue
  • Safety enhancements to the Wesbrook Mall roundabout

More details on the project design and construction schedule will be posted at the UBC C+CP website once the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MoTI), the signing authority for this corridor, has approved the project.
